Last Sunday, J and I went to Melawai area to find a Japanese restaurant named Dining En. I found about it from information I gathered from google: here and here . But it was hard to find the place because we rarely go there (Blok M/Melawai area). After asking several people, finally we found someone who knew the place. At first, he didn’t know where “Kamome” was but when we mentioned “Melawai”, he knew exactly where it’s. Just mention “Starbuck Melawai” instead of Kamome Building.
The building was placed next to Tamani Café. You’ll see a Starbuck sign there. We parked the car and entered the building. The building has this oldies look and “cockroach” smell. When we got there, the restaurant was closed T_T It will open again at 17.00. So we went to the supermarket to find okonomiyaki sauce I’ve been looking for but found nothing and we went to Starbuck. Too bad we didn’t bring our laptop :( I love this Starbuck. It’s comfy and spacious. It’s not crowded too! We ordered Chocolate Cream Chip Blended and Vanilla Cream Blended.
So after waiting there, we went to the second floor again and the resto has finally opened. There’re several people there. I think you can choose you want to cook it yourself or not. The waitress placed us in the “bar” area (dunno what it’s called) so we can see how they cook okonomiyaki.
The Okonomiyaki is a bit pricey. The small one (diameter = 12cm) costs Rp 37.000,- and the normal size costs you Rp 55.000,00 (diameter 14cm). We ordered the big one and 2 ocha(s). Most of the visitors ordered this food which I don’t know the name. For me, it’s like an oatmeal.
Finished with out meal, we went to Papaya, I was still curious with this Okonomiyaki sauce. Could not find it anywhere. Usually, I buy it at Japanese store near my home, but I think they’re closing the store :(
By the way, this photo bellow is OK ROBOK okonomiyaki style, which cost 21K (smoked beef) – cheaper!
